We sing a wide range of music from the renaissance to modern times, from Schutz to Karl Jenkins, offering something for all tastes. In the last few years we have tackled the great choral classics – the sublime Mozart Requiem, Handel’s ever-popular ‘Zadok the Priest’ and other Coronation Anthems, Brahms’ intensely moving German Requiem and Haydn’s The Creation.
We have also performed less well-known gems such as Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and the Christmas Story by Schutz.
Among 20th century pieces we performed Orff’s Carmina Burana in the Town Hall in 2014, joining forces with the Radcliffe Orchestra and East Oxford Community Choir. In March 2015 we sang Karl Jenkins’ moving work, The Armed Man: a Mass for Peace, composed in 2000.
Our summer concerts are often more light-hearted, for instance Gilbert and Sullivan’s satirical The Mikado.
Most of our concerts have orchestral accompaniment and the Headington Singers Orchestra comprises talented local musicians brought together for our performances.

Special occasions
To date we have done two concerts in Oxford Town Hall in partnership with the Radcliffe Orchestra to mark the closure of the Radcliffe Infirmary (Gala Concert 2007) and the 300th anniversary of the death of Dr John Radcliffe (2014). We have sung Haydn’s The Creation in Dorchester Abbey with Didcot Choral Society (2007).
